Great idea to have a boat and just cross the river to go there.... ;) if possible

Hindi Movie Songs by Open Maze

Who loves to hear Hindi Movie Songs and all types of Hindi songs, classics, remix, Telugu, Malayalam etc? www.raaga.com is the best place. You know why, I found number of songs including an Index for Hindi movies, different categories of songs etc in Raaga. Its really cool to hear some Asian voice, from far away here at Texas.
I'm not really a Hindi Song lover, except there are several songs that I love to hear, whenever I have a free time. Do you know what is my favorite Hindi song? Guess? It's an old Hindi song, but not the old classic version, but the remix version of the song is the one I love listen to. Its called "Dil kya kare jab kisse se". It was first sung by Kishore Kumar, for the Hindi Album "Julie". After that the remix version by Shaan for Album "Just Love". There are several other Movies that I love to hear. " Lagan", "Boys" and "Dil Cha Tha he" are my favorites.
The most interesting feature of Raaga site is the options they have to listen songs. U can select a Movie to listen all the songs included there. So it's like Non-stop song list. U need real player to listen to songs through Raaga. U can download and install a free version of Real player from this......Download Real Player

Muttiah Muralitharan - The living Legend of Cricket

Another 10-wicket haul for the Legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. It will boost his total to 674 wickets in the test cricket arena, if im correct. And also he is the most 10 wicket holder in a match, do u know how many? 19 times in 110 matches. No one nearer to him, only Shane Warne, with 10 times in 142 matches??? Incomparable isn't it. Same thing with most 5 wickets in a match, Murali with 56 times in 106 matches. Richard Hadly and Shane Warne are there with 36 times only.
If you just go through the records list of www.cricinfo.com, u can see lots of records written to Murali. I don't know how many? But lot i guess. Its really happy to see he is still with his potency for da triumph. Hold on Warne, Murali is on ur tail man. Only 20 wickets behind u. He'll catch u soon. Be ware of Murali........ this word of warning is for u, Shane warne.

Yahoo Widgets

Would u like to see some cool stuff in ur pc desktop? Like previous versions of da Desktop calender etc? Here Yahoo Widgets is a right answer for u. When i searched through da web i accidently found this stuff :) Hope u'd like it too. Try and see. Here is my desktop now with awsome whether forcarsting and da wifi strength indicator.
There r lot of different functionalities available with widgets. When i checked web today, they have more than 3500 widegts available for free downlading. The other + point of widgets is they are not much memory consuming like desktop calendar or desktop wallpaper changer. Here are some of quetos regarding da Yahoo Widgets.
What Is the Yahoo! Widget Engine?
The Yahoo! Widget Engine (formerly known as Konfabulator) is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your WiFi signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather. What sets Yahoo! Widget Engine apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of today's advanced graphics. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Windows XP and Mac OS X. The format for these Widgets is completely open and easy to learn so creating your own Widgets is an extremely easy task. For the "skinning" crowd, Yahoo! Widget Engine is a dream come true. You can easily change the look, feel, layout, even functionality of a Widget so that it matches your lifestyle, your desktop, or the pants or skirt you have on that day.

Da Vinchi Code Vs Borat

Now the time is 2.24 am early in the morning, what da hack im doing without going to bed? I just finished one of the most interesting film and worst film, i ever watched in my life time ( except Ice Age I, actually its one of the best OK). Da Vinchi code and Borat (better to say Boaring-Rat). The boaring-rat is my invension. I spent my whole day for da ultimate downloading of thease 2 films. Both of them truly exceptional in their own way. One is truly best, and other is truly worst (My opinions).

Da Vinchi Code
Dan Brown's controversial best-selling novel about a powerful secret that's been kept under wraps for thousands of years comes to the screen in this suspense thriller from director Ron Howard. The stately silence of Paris' Louvre museum is broken when one of the gallery's leading curators is found dead on the grounds, with strange symbols carved into his body and left around the spot where he died. Hoping to learn the significance of the symbols, police bring in Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou), a gifted cryptographer who is also the victim's granddaughter. Needing help, Sophie calls on Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a leading symbologist from the United States. As Sophie and Robert dig deeper into the case, they discover the victim's involvement in the Priory of Sion, a secret society whose members have been privy to forbidden knowledge dating back to the birth of Christianity. In their search, Sophie and Robert happen upon evidence that could lead to the final resting place of the Holy Grail, while members of the priory and an underground Catholic society known as Opus Dei give chase, determined to prevent them from sharing their greatest secrets with the world. Shot on location in France and the United Kingdom; the Louvre allowed the producers to film at the famous museum, but scenes taking place at Westminster Abbey had to filmed elsewhere when church officials declined permission.

Borat
Borat Sagdiyev (Cohen) is a Kazakhstani TV personality who travels to America to make a documentary record of his exploration of American culture. He is accompanied on this endeavor by his producer, Azamat (Ken Davitian). Once in New York City, Borat navigates the hurdles of settling into his hotel room then discovers Baywatch on late-night TV. He is immediately smitten by a certain blonde in a bathing suit and decides to take a road trip to California to meet her. This episodic journey takes him to Washington D.C., Atlanta, through the Deep South to Dallas, then finally out to Los Angeles. Along the way, he meets characters who are stranger than he is, adopts a pet bear, and gets into a nude wrestling match with his compatriot. That sequence alone is worth the price of admission since it's like a naked Groucho Marx (with an exaggeratedly long black cylinder obscuring his penis) doing battle with an unclothed Fat Bastard.

P.S: This pease of post is for da people who love to watch films and are unable to do so without paying big bucks for da DVD's and Cinema Tickets. I'll giv u a super hint to download thousands of newly released films and manymore free of charge from the Internet it self. Here is the way. U have to follow the following simple tasks for that.
1. Download one of the Torrent clients from the Internet - its free
http://www.bitcomet.com/ , http://www.utorrent.com/ , http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
Remember, u need only one of the above software for the downloadings. I recommend the first choise, bitcomet.
Read more about Torrent files
here
2. Now you are ready for the downloading of any pease of thing that u want to do so. Now u have to identify something called Torrent files. They are with .torrent extension. U can download them in several places. if u choose to install bitcomet, in the software it selt u can see list of sites to find out torrent files. Just open the following sites and download the necessary torrent file to ur PC.
http://www.torrentreactor.net/ , http://www.bitenova.nl/index.html

3. Go to the installed torrent client, say bitcomet. locate the downloaded .torrent file through the bitcomet. select a location to save ur downloading and start the downloading.
4. Be cool. It will take sometime to start the downloading and to finish the entire downloading process. This is another important thing. Check how many seeders are there before downloading the torrent file from above sites. B'se u need at least 1 seeder to make a successful downloading. Be sure to check dat too. Higher the number of seeders will greatly increase the downloading time and activity.
5. As an example, i started a downloading in the morning at abt 10 am, finished it at 3 am next morning. See how much time it will take. But its worth of spending such time to see all the cool newly uploaded films, games , softwares etc.

Texas State University - San Marcos

Wanna see some information abt Texas State University......its time

Texas State University-San Marcos is a doctoral granting university located in the burgeoning Austin-San Antonio corridor, the largest campus in the Texas State University System, and one of the 75 largest universities in the country.
Texas State’s 27,503 students choose from 115 undergraduate and 84 masters and 6 Ph.D. graduate degree programs offered by seven colleges(
Applied Arts, McCoy College of Business Administration, Education, Fine Arts and Communication, Health Professions, Liberal Arts, and Science), the University College, and the Graduate College.

Location
Located on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, where blackland prairies turn in to beautiful hills, Texas State enjoys a setting that is unique among Texas universities. The beauty of the crystal-clear San Marcos River and the stately cypress and pecan trees on the campus adds to the charm of its picturesque settings. The campus is in
San Marcos, a community about halfway between Austin and San Antonio. Its location on the banks of the San Marcos River provides recreational and leisure activities for students throughout the year.

History
Authorized by the Texas Legislature in 1899, Southwest Texas State Normal School opened its doors in 1903. Over the years the Legislature broadened the institution's scope and changed its name, in succession, to Normal College, Teachers College, College, University, and in 2003 to Texas State University-San Marcos. Each name reflects the university's growth from a small teacher preparation institution to a major, multipurpose university. Texas State's original mission was to prepare Texas public school teachers, especially those of south central Texas. It became renowned for carrying out this mission, but today it does far more.

Defence Vs Tamilnet

The absence of a web site to provide accurate information on defence, has paved the way for many adverse elements to distort the facts and provide false information to the world, tarnishing the image of the country. The duty of the armed forces of any country is to defend the nation's interests. Thus, the website will extend this service through the World Wide Web aligning its effort with the nation's vision, to bring peace and prosperity to the motherland.
The new website will be a gateway for the news exclusively on defence.
The new web site will provide the latest news and views exclusively on national defence around the clock. Further, it provides an open forum for discussion among interested parties on national defence through its "point of view" column. Defence.lk invites all those who yearn, the Motherland to be free form terrorism to join hands with its Herculean effort.

Cheers for the power cut

If I look back 4 or 5 months time, I was really disturbed with the performance in my final year research. Not even had a clue on how to start the work. After such an embarrassing start, cant imagine how successful I am. Its like a bad nightmare, came to a cheerful ending.
Yesterday I was at my final step of the research. With months of continues effort its like a deadlock situation (better to say a starvation!). At the ultimate step, but no idea where to go next, and what to do then. I found a method to solve a problem in touching pairs of Offline handwritten characters, which consists of an algorithm to separate connected characters at junctions, and again merging them to isolate the unwanted connection. After that, no sign on how to separate them into meaningful characters. Suddenly I found my self Hey Man u just finished ur work, nothing to do other than this. The funniest thing was, I realized I already finished in the research, because of the power cut in the university premises.
Power Cut & End of the Research Hugh?????? U ppl definitely think this person is nuts! Which bugger will say a relationship between the power failure and the Research work. Do u know what happened. Because of the power cut, I didnt have to start my research at the place that I was stopped. So had ample time to think what to do next, without moving in a faulty direction (cause I already started on doing some coding on another, which I guess a kind of a foolish way). No power, no coding, so I went to sleep. When I woke up, time was 3.30Pm afternoon; I was really upset cause I wasted 4 hours without doing a thing. Suddenly I realized, hey nothing to do, Im at the end of my research, I was really happy.

Cheers for the power cut.

Cup Vs Coffee

I got this nice story from one of my email group, thought it is worth to post and to read, check it out.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

"While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress".

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups. "Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesnt change."

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

So dont let the cups drive you. enjoy the coffee instead.

Do you Believe in ghosts ?

I got this interesting image from one of my friend in the jayathilaka hall. According to his confirmation, the location is Yala National Park, and people who are there in the background, as my friend said one of his seniors from the faculty.
Check out the bottom image, can you spot something creepy at the top right hand corner of the image. Now go to the top image. You can see the zoomed ghostly depiction at the top image. Guess what is it.

Do I believe ghost? thats what came to my mind soon after I spot on this. What about you ppl? Do you believe ghosts or spirits or whatever spine chilling? Honestly, I believe the supernaturalism; I believe there is something paranormal to our 3-D world. Something, which will go beyond the dimensions that we know.
Ghosts and Spirits are perhaps one of the most common of all unexplained phenomena, second only to sightings of UFO's. The concept of the dead rising from their graves to haunt the living world has lived on in folklore and tales for generations, and it seems now only too obvious that such stories are in no way false.
So, the topic is very interesting I guess, I checked the web to find out something about the phenomena behind on this. Check this out.

Paranormal Phenomena
In some cases a ghost will not appear visibly, but will instead engage in activities such as manipulating objects and throwing things around - books off shelves etc. This type of ghost is known as a poltergeist. In some more drastic cases, a ghost will take possession of a human being and speak through the person's body, although this is highly rare.
Ghost related phenomena can occur anywhere, and in many different forms. A ghost "sighting" usually involves an Apparition of some kind, whereas in other cases a ghost is suspected because of a feeling of dread in a building or location, cold spots, strange marks and noises occuring and so on.
To date, spirits and ghosts have remained one of the most chilling aspects of the unexplained.

Ahh, Interesting isnt it, so be careful, ghosts are all around you guys, think twice before doing things.

Guns Vs Wives

#10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
#9. You can keep one gun at home and have anotherfor when you're on the road.
#8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.
#7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keepanother gun for a backup.
#6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
#5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
#4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
#3. A gun doesn't ask , "Do these new grips make me look fat?"
#2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.

And the number one reason a gun is better than a wife . . . .
#1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN.

Terrorism

I heard a rumor about one of precarious LTTE Terrorist (Thami Chelwam) yesterday; the news reported the death of him due to a bomb attack probably by another Terrorist (Karuna) team. I was really thrilled on the story but the sad news is, it was just a gossip.
Im not really a person who is oppose with Tamil people but I hate terrorist specially LTTEs (and the sri lankans politician as well). Is there any other country who is said to be sinhala. I dont think. Take Arab, they have the Muslims, take India , they have the Hindustanis, take American , they have the white people. Take Tamilnadu, they have the Tamil people. Do any country other than sir lanka have Sinhalease? So, do u agree to give a part of Sri Lanka to Tamil terrorist?

Cheers Sri Lankan Cricket

Yesterday the awesome Sri Lankan Cricket team struck against the World Champion Ausies. The master blaster Sana slogs for maximum 114 of only 94 balls. Its really glad to see the team is back on track. Throughout the day, all the ppl gathered around the Jayathilaka cafeteria TV, they cheered for the Sri Lankan victory. I also had no work till 2pm just hang on to the TV, afterward I had to be at American College till 6pm on lecturing for the Diploma Class. At that time also I just stick in to the web to see how the Ausies going to followed on to get the mighty total runs of 309 put on the score by Sri Lankans. Funny thing was, when I was at American college, I saw one of minor staff guy who is eagerly listen to a pocket radio and I just asked him the cricket score, after that every 30min time he came to my class room and informed me the match status of the sri lankan team. Cheers Sri Lanka.

Researchers Develop Quantum Processor

A computer chip based on the esoteric science of quantum mechanics has been created by researchers at the University of Michigan. The chip might well pave the way for a new generation of supercomputers. Employing the same semiconductor-fabrication techniques used to create common computer chips, the Michigan team was able to trap a single atom within an integrated chip and control it using electrical signals.
Two Places at Once
As of yet, the technology is not applicable to typical desktop PCs or servers, but quantum computers are said to be promising because they can solve complicated problems using massively parallel computing. That is accomplished by the quirky nature of quantum mechanics, said Christopher Monroe, a physics professor and the principal investigator and co-author of the paper "Ion Trap in a Semiconductor Chip." He explained that that chips can process multiple inputs at the same time in the same device. "With quantum mechanics, an object can be in two places at the same time, as long as you don't look at it," he said. The quantum computer architecture can store quantum bits (qubits) of information, where each qubit can hold the numbers one or zero, or even both digits simultaneously. When a qubit is added to a quantum system, the computing power doubles. Thus, the quantum machine can crunch numbers at a rate that is exponentially faster than conventional processors, said Monroe.
New Spin on Semiconductors
Electrically charged atoms (ions) for such quantum computers are stored in traps in order to isolate the qubits, a process that is essential for the system to work. The challenge is that current ion traps can hold only a few atoms, or qubits, and are not easily scaled, making it difficult to create a quantum chip that can store thousands or more atomic ions. A string of such atoms, in theory, could store thousands of bits of information. In the chip created at Michigan, which is the size of a postage stamp, the ion is confined in a trap while electric fields are applied. Laser light puts a spin on the ion's free electron, enabling it to flip it between the one or zero quantum states. The spin of the electron dictates the value of the qubit. For example, an up-spin can represent a one, or a down-spin can represent a zero -- or the qubit can occupy both states simultaneously.
Applications for Cryptography
The quantum processor is made of gallium arsenide in a layered structure and etched with electrodes using the same type of lithography process as those used to create today's computer chips. Each electrode is connected to a separate voltage supply, and these various electrical voltages control the ion by moving as it hovers in a space carved out of the chip. The next step is to build a bigger chip with many more electrodes, so that it can store more ions. There still is a lot of work to be done to learn how to control lots of ions in one of these chips. It won't be nearly as easy as it was with conventional computer chips, but at least we know what to do in principle, Monroe said. "This type of integrated chip structure is significant because it demonstrates a way to scale the quantum computer to bigger systems," Monroe said. "It has applications for processing very large [data sets] such as in cryptography, for example, and there is a lot of interest in this by the government."

Happy New Year...........

Happy New Year all my friends who r there with me in the past few years and hope ur back-up all the way through this year too. Bit of late to pierce in, had lot of workings specially with my research. Quite a busy these days with all the things.
Now only I know how much of effort has to be done on a research.I remember that in the past how we work on projects. Hey but it is not the case in this research. We have to work hard all throughout the year to come up with a solution. I think this is because, we know the finals solution, but dont know to find correct path to go there.
In my research I came up with a nice solution to find character junctions (to locate connected character junctions) and implemented it in java. It is working quite well. Still at the 50% mark of the work. So my next intention is to uncover, how to merge character segments after segmenting them at a particular junction point. Lot of issues to consider, how to name the segments at the junction? Will the algorithm give the correct number of segments at the junction? Etc. Have to find first-rate solutions for these problems, within a narrow instance of time.
